Dr. Chavira is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist with subspecialty training and certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (a.k.a. high risk pregnancy). His practice is centered in the South Los Angeles area in Southern California. Over the years he has worked together with all manner of pregnancy care professionals from other MFM’s and OB’s to midwives, doulas, and chiropractors. He has developed a healthy respect for the knowledge, skills, and strengths offered by practitioners of different disciplines. He has experience with pregnancy care in many settings ranging from home birth to birth centers, and from community hospitals to high tech tertiary medical centers. One of his main professional interests is the preservation of the art of vaginal birth for pregnancies such as multiple gestations and breech births.
